Request #17-110
Email from Debra A Freed 8/3/2017

"The PVA New England Chapter is preparing for its 70th anniversary Banquet and came across some information that seems unknown to many of us. This concerns Ashland Property, based on an article from Paraplegia News, Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) September 1958, that the New England Chapter purchased four acre plot of land with lake frontage. To the best of our records, we are not aware of whether the Chapter sold this property, donated it, or whatever happened, if in actuality, property was actually bought."

From Cliff Wilson
"I reviewed all of the deeds recorded in Ashland between November 1957 and September 1958. (Books 9072-9139).  I could not find any deed reflecting the sale. It is possible that it could be Registered land, but I was unable to check those deeds on line. There is one parcel 401 12 0001 that is at the corner of Ashland and Southborough on the Assessors map. It is waterfront (1 acre in Ashland, possibly  more in Southborough. Owner is unknown on the Assessor records. I will continue to look. Ashland Res and Waushakum Pond do not seem to be viable."
